Black Walnut + Chaparral Anti-Fungal Balm
This balm was born of a need when a family member developed a case of ringworm - a condition notoriously hard to combat. However, it worked well and we didn’t have to resort to pharmaceutical products that can be damaging to the skin. A 2 ounce tin was enough to heal the case that had spread to numerous areas before it was identified.
Black Walnut Hulls are anti-viral, anti-fungal, and antiseptic and have been used to fight viral warts and fungal infections like Candida, Ringworm, and Atheletes Foot.
Chaparral is a fascinating plant that we are attempting to grow this year (in spite of not being in the best climate for it). One of it’s major constituents is nordihydroguaiaretic acid (NDGA) - said to be one of the most powerful antioxidant chemicals presently known. NDGA is highly effective against yeast and other funguses. Chaparral’s anti-inflammatory properties help to relieve discomfort and boosts immune response.
We have added anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, skin-protecting Mugwort to this balm for an added boost to fighting infection, and also for it’s anti-inflammatory properties.
Essential Oils of Tea Tree and Lavender were added for their anti-fungal and antiseptic properties, and Thyme was added for its ability to stimulate blood flow and help skin to heal.
